Herrick Lake
08.16.04
Meditations and images from a winding walk at summer twilight around Herrick Lake which is part of the DuPage County Forest Preserve located in Wheaton, Illinois. These photos are some of the treasures of nature I found along my path. The circuitous trails through the trees and around the expansive pond are a perfect place to quietly contemplate.

Las Vegas, Nevada
10.04.04
Views from my October, 2004 trip to lavish Las Vegas. "Viva, viva!" My little romance with America's most iconic city continues to flourish as I've gone annually beginning in 2002. I stayed an extended weekend with Anthony at the pulsing "New York New York Hotel" --we strolled up and down the strip in 110 degree weather during the day and caught some great shows in the evening including Clint Holmes and the Cirque du Soleil's erotic masterpiece, "Zumanity."

Japanese Gardens at Fabyan Woods
05.08.05
Images from the exquisite and very compact Japanese Gardens located at Fabyan Woods in Geneva, Illinois. A magical zen sanctuary: bridges over floating pond ducks, quiet winding paths through lush foilage, a place to read and write haiku. I stroll here to clear my head, reflect and meditate.

Tallinn, Estonia
11.18.05
Pictures from my trip in November to the medieval city of Tallinn. Byzantine architecture, church spires, cobblestones, a bohemian cafe life that truly rivals even Vienna and Amsterdam. I spent eight days roaming about this gusty, snowy city and fell in love with the authentic charm of both the culture and the people. In the center of the old town was a "Yuletide" market selling hand crafted holiday gifts.

Lakeside, Michigan
08.20.06
Pictures from my summer 2006 visit to the historic Lakeside Inn in Harbor County Michigan with Abra. In the 1920's, the hotel boasted lavish gardens and its own zoo. During the 1930's and 40's the inn hosted Chicago orchestras and since that time has been a meeting point for international artists. There really is an electric, creative vibe here.

Portland, Oregon
10.26.06
Snapshots from my very favorite city in the Pacific Northwest. Perhaps truly, in the whole United States! From the tree friendly downtown area to the chic Pearl District to Nob Hill and the funky neighborhoods, I can't get enough of this town.

Paris, France
08.09.07
Paris is the city of my dreams. View some shots of the city of lights with my dearest soul sister Abra. I lived with Ab in Paris in the mid-nineties so we made a small pilgrimage to some of our favorite places during this visit: the Luxembourg Gardens, the Marais, and the Shakespere and Company bookstore to name just a few! Magic followed us everywhere and I can't wait to go back!

The Versailles Gardens, France
08.09.07
The lavish gardens of Versailles, France are breathtaking in their scope and design. I'm certain that strolling through these parks I was able to channel the soul of Louis the 14th!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
09.21.07
Being in Mexico was like stepping into paradise. Anthony and I swam with the dolphins, dined on shrimp and quesadillas, lounged in the hotel's fabulous spa and pool for days with tropical drinks in hand, got lost in the Old Town, meandered down the beachfront, and fell under the spell of this beguiling town.

San Francisco, California
09.24.09
Snapshots from my September 2009 trip to San Francisco--one of the most enchanting cities on the planet--cosmopolitan, diverse, savvy, embracing--a total charmer for me. Of course I left my heart there, but then, who wouldn't?

Golden Gate Park and the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco, CA
09.24.09
I could never tire of the sublime botanical gardens of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I wanted to stay a bit longer as well in the Japanese Tea Gardens and float on the zen pond!

Paris, France 2010
07.21.10
Let this most recent sojourn back to my spiritual hometown be a starting point for more love affairs with this magical city. Yes, yes, yes, I'll be back! I promise!
