tiki-time: the glass is empty--for now! it's never too early to be wishing for the lush plush trippiness of trader vics (the original vics is sadly missing from the chicago lounge landscape now!) but i understand that trader vics is open and situated at the new planet hollywood in
fabulous las vegas and i'm fully intending on having my sweet "cabana dream" there this september! give me a dark booth surrounded by bamboo, tiki mugs, hula skirts, vintage exotica lounge music, and this:
a cabana dream
1/2 oz. banana liqueur
1/2 oz. coconut rum
1/4 oz. toffee liqueur
1/2 oz. amber rum
1 oz. half-n-half
stir with lots of ice. do not shake. pour into a glass over ice . . ."with dreamland comin' on . . dream on, dream on, dream on!"
"whoever is calm and sensible is insane!"

life is constantly morphing. it's (finally) march and even though the snow is lingering, i feel the "greening" inside of me--the thaw, the anticipation of buds and blooms and promise. i am getting ready for the shift into spring. i feel somewhat hopeful with the conviction that all good things are about to present themselves. it's just a feeling--for now, that's enough.
