yesterday i did some last minute shopping with friends, came home and baked cookies (ate too much cookie dough!), wrapped presents, listened to christmas music, and fell into bed very late. merry christmas eve . . .

december treats so far: eating chocolate truffles and goat cheese balls at a starbucks in chicago, wearing "jo malone's" orange blossom cologne--(yes, i have a new scent), hearing an old barry gibb song from 1983 called "eyes that see in the dark", a guiltless afternoon watching and weeping over the film "under the tuscan sun" with spoonfuls of hagan daz coffee ice cream melting on my tongue, shopping for food gifts at "bobaks" polish store for my mom, cooking dinner after work with anthony, hearing a student say to me "you're making writing poetry fun", watching the snow drift down and snuggling in bed while the wind blew fierce against the bedroom's french doors, an afternoon spent writing when everything just seemed to bloom onto the page. . .
