an early christmas dinner with dawn at a lovely italian restaurant in chicago called "a tavola" yielded some wonderful memories. dawn baked me my favorite "pine nut" cookies which surely must contain the kiss of ecstasy in each bite--that almond paste which reminds me of the taste and texture of marzipan is enough to send me straight to heaven. also, the scent of the "jo malone" lime and grapefruit soap she gave me has me levitating off the ground! there is a magical sensory memory contained within that unique fragrance but i can't seem to place it. i think i have a favorite new scent here! i'm also just gaga crazy/wild about the
"tarot de paris" card set! wow! imagine a reinvented deck of tarot cards that honor the mystery inherent in my beloved city of paris! the cards are just exquisite and j. philip thomas, the artist who designed them, tells a most amazing story about the city of paris--ley lines are embedded in the city plan which divine cosmic energies. facinating stuff! i did my first reading last night, a simple three card spread, that indicated all good things ahead! ce'st magnifique!
the video poem "elemental reels" was juried into the international festival on poetry video and played today in buenos aires, argentina. the festival is the brainchild of the amazing folks at
video bardo who offer some amazing discourse on the genre of poetry video. "elemental reels" was the last usa entry to play in the festival, right after my soul mentor, allen ginsberg! i'm so happy about this today! i'm floating!
