"i'm gonna take you to my special place
it's a place no amount of hurt and anger
can deface
i put things back together there
it all falls right in place
in my special space"

i'm officially hooked on the new jamba juice that opened on diehl road and their delicious "orange berry blitz" which is mixed with pineapple sherbert and frozen strawberries. zing! i usually have them toss in a vita-pak for good measure and i'm stoked to go. slurped one up at the danada forest preserve yesterday where i took a luxurious hike along the dupage river. found a perfect spot to lay my blanket down in prairie grass to meditate, read, and organize my calendar. near wild heaven, for sure! on my summer book list so far: "the art of pilgrimage" by my new spiritual mentor phil cousineau, "the art of travel" by alain de boton, and "the faith of a writer" by joyce carol oates. all quite stirring and engaging.

watched the film "before sunset" at the glen ellyn art theatre last night--what a delight! it was a joy just to be able to walk around paris (which seems to play a significant third character) with this quirky couple, and just be a voyeur to their conversations about art, life, and romance. i loved being in "le pure cafe" and seeing the sights from the seine and strolling down all the beautiful zig zag streets of paris again. ultimately this movie is about how we create love in our life by the choices we make, and also about having faith in the mystery, having trust in the source that brings us together with another human soul where we can be truly seen and completely ourselves--and more. this film is a testament to the existence of true love and the travails that we must sometimes endure in order to bring us back to our significant other--a great inspirational film filled with magical moments. the scene where ethan hawke and julie delpy listen to nina simone singing "just in time" is priceless!
