independence day: my top four "ben and jerry's" ice cream flavors for the july 4th holiday weekend: "coffee heath bar crunch", "cherry garcia", "karmel sutra," and "peanut butter cup." my top four pop songs to hear as background wallpaper at a bbq: "love's divine" by seal, "amazing" by george michael, "everything" by alanis morisette, "accidentally in love" by counting crows. my top four usa spots i've never been to (but would love to go to) to watch (or set off) fireworks: lanikai beach, oahu, hawaii, the top of a lighthouse at key west, florida, a fishing pier off a beach at aguadilla, puerto rico, a camp at palm desert, california. my top four wishes for the usa: continued development, strong legislative support, and the eventual implementation of the us department of peace; a widespread cultural re-examination of the level of violent brutality that seems to pervade the consciousness and makeup of america and a real attempt to sensitize our citizens to embrace a gentler, humane, and more loving approach towards one another; genuine and visible attempts made by all politicians and concerned citizens to sustain our wildlife habitats and protect the environment; and finally, restored pride in a country that has reprioritized its values and placed human rights above weapons and bombs, mindless consumerism, abject power, and indifference towards people everywhere who continue to suffer and struggle under the wheel of political inequity and economic injustice.
