gifts. presents. little wonders. christmas came in the mail today. a captured dandelion puff in a paperweight. a treasure box carved from a beautiful tree (perfect to hold my silver acorns). pistachio and almond nougats from london. a coffee cup swirled in magic drawings. joy came today in the mail, just for me. and i'm dancing again. it's been months. but i'm dancing.

what i wanted to say was . . .what i meant was . .what i wanted to do was . .what i wanted to see . .where i wanted to live . .how i wanted to know you . .how i wanted to cradle you in my arms at night . .the way i wanted to feel you . .how i wanted us to enter the room together . .what i wanted to believe in was . .what i needed to hear you say was . .what i wanted to be able to know was . .what i wanted . .

summer solstice . .let it be about productivity, creativity, sharing, and hope. let it be about all good things for everyone . .and most of all, let it be about peace on earth.

my short story, "mer boy" will be included in mitzi szereto's new anthology, "foreign affairs" forthcoming from cleis press this autumn. you can also read my online interview with mitzi at "the pedestal magazine" edited by poet john amen. mitzi offers some amazing insights into the craft of writing serious literary erotica and the importance of celebrating the sexual self. check out john's great interview with poet robert creeley in this issue too.

rain today and then sudden sun through beautiful clouds . .i think it's going to be a magnificent season. . .
